Aquilanta is a specialist consultancy providing advice to companies and people in and around the television industry.

The principal of Aquilanta is Matthew Angel, an experienced television executive, intellectual property specialist and former solicitor with many years' experience of high-profile deal-making and contract negotiation.

 

He has worked with some of the biggest names in the Entertainment industry, including serving as Global Head of Business Affairs for Simon Cowell's entertainment company, Syco Entertainment.  Matthew started out as a commercial solicitor at a City of London law firm, specialising in IP and spending time on secondment to the British Film Institute as its sole in-house counsel.  He then moved to ITV where he held a variety of senior Business Affairs roles in both London and Los Angeles, working on programmes such as I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!, Kitchen Nightmares USACome Dine With MeDancing On IceThe Chase and Hell's Kitchen, and negotiating numerous talent deals.  Matthew worked on both the broadcaster and production sides of ITV.  Matthew then joined All3Media Head Office as Controller of Legal & Business Affairs, during which time he negotiated the group-wide music publishing deal with EMI, which is still in operation.  Following that, he spent four years at Syco Entertainment, the joint venture between Simon Cowell and Sony Music.  As Global Head of Business Affairs and member of the senior management team, he worked on international shows The X Factor and Got Talent as well as the launch of La Banda and other formats.  Most recently Matthew served as Chief Operating Officer of Objective Media Group, overseeing a significant growth in the group's revenue.   

 

Matthew acts as a consultant for BAND, specialist advisors, accountants and business managers to the creative, media, sports and entertainment industries.

 

He is also a Playmaker for the Palace for Life Foundation.
